Overview

Artemis Health is an early-stage company dedicated to the development of non-invasive prenatal diagnostic tests. Our mission is to develop tests that provide women, their families and their physicians with accurate and timely information about fetal and maternal health. We do this by developing and commercializing non-invasive, accurate, genome-based prenatal diagnostic tests for use in early pregnancy, for all women. With a single maternal blood draw, our tests will provide valuable genetic information without risk to the mother or her baby.

Artemis Health’s primary emphasis is on the isolation of fetal cells from maternal blood for advanced genetic testing. Fetal cells are a rare and fragile element of maternal blood, so isolating and analyzing these cells can be difficult, providing an exciting research and clinical development challenge. Today, we are applying our patented technologies and processes to address this challenge. Once isolated, the fetal cells provide enough fetal DNA for various genetic tests including Down syndrome and other genetic disorders, which are currently diagnosed using invasive and sometimes risky procedures such as amniocentesis or CVS.
